「博士教育を国際化する」をキーワードとする学内の教育推進組織です。ドイツのエアランゲンニュルンベルク大学と連携した共同博士課程や研究留学のサポート、社会人のための学び直し・リスキリング講座の企画、キーワードに沿った講演会の開催、トランスファラブルスキルの提供などを通じて、イノベーション創出を担うグローバルリーダーを育成するための活動をしています。

The NITech Doctoral Global Academy is an on-campus educational promotion organization guided by the key phrase “globalizing doctoral education.” The Academy works to cultivate global leaders who will drive innovation, through initiatives such as supporting joint doctoral programs and research stays in collaboration with Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, planning retraining and reskilling courses for working professionals, organizing lectures around the key theme, and providing opportunities to develop transferable skills.

連携する大学間で開設された共同の学修プログラムのことで、博士後期課程では相手大学に１年間留学し、修了時には２大学から単一の学位「博士」が授与されます。当アカデミーでは、日独間で開設する博士後期課程「国際連携エネルギー変換システム専攻」の大学院生に、グローバルＲＡ（経済的支援）や留学費用の付与など、学びをサポートします。

A Joint Degree Program is a shared study program established between partner universities. In the doctoral program, students study at the partner institution for one year, and upon completion, a single doctoral degree is awarded jointly by the two universities. At the Academy, we support graduate students in the Japan–Germany joint doctoral program in Energy Conversion Systems by offering Global RA (financial support) positions and providing funding for study-abroad expenses, among other forms of assistance.

学士や修士よりもさらに高度な研究能力を証明するもので、国際的に通用する最上位の学位です。研究者や技術者にとって、グローバルに通じる「パスポート」とも呼ばれており、名刺などに博士（工学）や Doctor of Engineeringが印字されると、工学的な研究や技術について深く知る人物として信頼が増し、キャリアアップやビジネスチャンスの可能性が拡がります。   

A doctoral degree is the highest academic degree recognized internationally, and it certifies advanced research capabilities that go beyond those of a bachelor’s or master’s degree. For researchers and engineers, it is often called a global “passport.” When “Doctor of Engineering” is printed on business cards, it can enhance credibility as someone with deep knowledge of engineering research and technology, thereby expanding opportunities for career advancement and business.

休職など社内の労働から一旦離れる、または退職後であることを前提とする「リカレント（生涯学習）」とは異なり、「学び直し／リスキリング」は就業しながら学ぶもので、社内で今後必要とされるスキルを新たに獲得する学びを指します。

Unlike “recurrent education (lifelong learning),” which typically assumes stepping away from work (e.g., taking a leave of absence) or learning after retirement, “relearning/reskilling” refers to learning while employed to acquire new skills that will be needed in the workplace going forward.

トランスファラブルスキル（Transferable Skills）とは「移転可能なスキル」という意味で、重要なスキルと認識されています。特に博士後期課程学生においては、自身の専門分野などの研究スキルの拡張だけでなく、研究を超えたビジネス面でも有効に活用することができるスキルです。  

Transferable skills are “portable” skills that can be applied across different roles, fields, and industries, and are recognized as important competencies. For doctoral students in particular, transferable skills are not only useful for expanding research-related skills in their areas of expertise; they can also be effectively used in business contexts beyond research.
